Today, we are all aware of the benefits of FSBO as an effective method of buying and selling property. FSBO can save you a substantial amount of money, in terms of the amount which otherwise goes as agent commission.

However, closing a deal is important in FSBO, and most sellers lose out in this area. In other words, a successful deal is must.
FSBO eliminates the involvement of real estate agents and intermediaries, who, by virtue of their strong network, can close deals pretty fast. This is not the case in FSBO, as you are the one who would be responsible for initiating and closing a deal.

An ideal method of initiating a deal can be asking friends and peers for recommendations and referrals. Personal contact is important. This is an area where FSBO has an added advantage over ordinary sale. Direct or mass mailing and sending sales letter to mailing partners may also work well if planned properly. These methods being followed, leads wont be a problem.

To close a deal and sell your home at the best price, you need to be a master salesman. To be one, you only need to make the buyer feel like a winner. Try to be flexible towards the prospective sellers and keep suitable margins for negotiations. Seller's inflexibility can move away the buyers. So a reasonable negotiation is must.
